Zion’s debut

Oh yeah.  I'm watching.  Still waiting for that first bucket.

Zion is huge!  285 pounds.  Damn.  I've been thinking he is built like Charles Barkley in his playing days.

A quick 17 points by Zion in the 4th quarter, and Gentry takes him out.  Lose by 4.  Brilliant coaching. Take out the hot shooter.

Zion didn't do much in his 4 minutes of action in the first 3 quarters, but wow what a 4th quarter by Zion.  22 points in under 20 minutes of playing time.  I know you want to ease him into the action, but damn.  Coach.  I want to take back anything nice I said about Gentry in that other thread.  Yes, I'm frustrated.

But these 3 rookies look to be exciting players going forward.

Zion needed a few quarters to knock the rust off, but flashed the talent that we all know is there.

He must be on a real tight minute restriction...because I agree with you that it was stupid for him to come out just as he got hot.  And it's not like he needed a break...he played very little in the first half of the game.

If we only go as far as Gentry's coaching can take us...we won't go far.

I was frustrated as well, but I believe the decision to pull Zion came from above Gentry. Jaxon Hayes should have been guarding Aldridge all night. Aldridge did his damage against Favors. Hayes length and jumping ability didn't allow him those easy jump shots. That  is coaching, and we saw last night why Greg Popovich is a HOF'er.

Totally agree on Hayes, WTF were the Pels coaching staff thinking there...Actually had Ingram had his normal outing Pels would have won easily, he missed alot of shots he normally makes....

I think they are smart to limit Zion's minutes right now, I also think Zion needs to lose 20lbs or he is going to continue to have leg/foot injury issues....
