According to multiple reports, the Saints have officially released Brandon Browner and designated the veteran cornerback as a post-June 1 cut. What that means is the team has spread the $2.6 million cap hit over two seasons, rather than taking the entire thing this year.

Browner bid farewell to New Orleans last month, but the Saints had to keep his contract on the books until the new league year to designate him a post-June 1 cut. He was thought to be a great leader for the locker room when signed, but only proved to be a liability on the field due to poor play and racking up excessive penalty flags.

Seriously, how many drives did he keep alive for opponents last yr due to getting the yellow laundry thrown at him? Good riddance...

Too many to count. Browner personally accounted for several of the team's losses this past season. He was weaker than the weakness link.
