Did he even play in more than a few games last season? I don't think losing him would be a big loss outside of depth...

It's Tom's and Clapp's to lose at this point. Unger spoke highly of them out the door so his ability to plug and play across the entire line s only going to help him gain traction when it comes down to cutdowns. That is if Easton makes the final cut in the end anyway. Injury concerns are his major hurdle at this point. He passed the physical to sign so that's a start.

Look at it this way, he's capable of playing either guard or center and it does give us an additional crosstrained lineman, we seem to favor players that are versatile, it's not going to hurt us in the least.

Ok, maybe we were both right. I have found two articles stating they both make calls together. This article and another said they both make calls in tandem read another that said that too. This one quoted Tom saying that. Well, I will admit I was wrong sorry for bad intel guys.

Man I'm gonna hate to see him go. He did an awesome job covering the team but I'm happy for him but at the same time it stings a little.

He was a beast, a solid player for many years and he gave his all constantly. Nothing but respect for Unger. I'm sorry to hear of his injuries but to be a center for 10 years at that level is difficult, to say the least, and he did it.

I thought I read multiple times that Unger made the line calls....ok, sorry if I was wrong about that....

Not that I am against the signing, but hoping most of that money is tied into incentives. I know the Saints have been high on Cameron Tom for a couple of years. I really hope he wins the job. I really liked him and Clapp last year.

Younger, cheaper, and more versatile in that he can play center and guard. He's had injury ending seasons apparently the last 2 from what I'm reading online. Vikes are not happy losing him some are happy with him leaving, mixed bag fwiw.

The finalists are the Vikings, the Saints, and a supposed mystery team. As Tomasson notes, the Saints have a heightened urgency to lure Easton, given that he can play center and that their starting center, Max Unger, recently retired.

    Former NFL Great Ron McDole

Was actually contacted by this guys daughter to make a Gallery for him.
I honestly wasn't familiar with him but after research he is definitely was of those unsung greats that belongs in the Hall of Fame. Seriously, played 18 seasons, is on both the Redskins 70-Greatest Players and the Bills Silver Anniversary team and supposedly still holds the NFL record for most interceptions by a defensive lineman --- 12.

Drew makes all the line calls. Unger mentioned that in an article I read the offseason he missed with surgery on his foot.

He is currently my favorite Saints writer. The sad news is he isn't switching platforms he is leaving the Saints. He better not be going to ATL or I'm gonna be pissed.

He was great against the run and did have a lot of pressures even if his sack numbers weren't high. We need Davenport and Hendrickson to step up.
