  1. Yeah, I've seen enough of him. I don't think it is a talent issue, he can play, I think it is more like a mental/confidence issue. He plays great for stretches then falls apart....
  2. I'm happy that we signed him and all, it means we don't have an immediate need to draft a WR in the 1st and can go after a LB/DT or even oline (for those that believe Warford is in decline)....but unless he could play either G position I still don't think we beat Minn necessarily.....
  3. Crazy money for a player that can't stay healthy....when he is healthy he is a very good G and capable LT....but I believe multiple injuries have caused his play to regress....This is a real head scratcher....
  4. Klein is getting more money than I thought he would, I understand the decision to let him walk.....but keep in mind that our defense without him last year suffered as he was the defensive coach on the field....
  5. I for one am really surprised Brady went to TB, their oline is at best average (I actually think it is in the bottom 12 of the NFL). And as much positive hype there is always around Airians, one of the main reasons he is no longer the coach of the Cardinals is he failed to build a decent oline there as well. If our defensive line is healthy I'm looking forward to see them sack/pressure Brady multiple times....
  6. My son went to the DC Defenders game yesterday with a friend who lives within walking distance of the stadium. He said it was a great experience....
  7. I think it is fairly obvious the NFL only acted on CTE when they were backed into a corner by the lawsuits, in other words they had no other choice but to do something or create the appearance that they were doing something. And it's not just CTE, the NFL has a pretty consistent track record on not being proactive, rather being reactive. Again, as much hate as there is (and much of it justified) for Goodell, he is really just a pawn for the most powerful owners. I don't understand your position on the 2 preseason game vs 1 extra regular season game but there is much more exposure to starting players by adding a regular season game than playing 2 preseason games (games in which a lot of the minutes/exposure will be to players that won't even make the roster). I can't see how anyone believes eliminating 2 preseason games and adding a regular season game results in less exposure for starting players.... I somewhat agree that today's owners have a different POV than owners from an earlier era but we probably disagree on the reasons why...I believe they have to look at things differently because they are forced to, not because they want to...
  8. I couldn't disagree more. These owners continue to have Roger Goodell do their bidding, I think your timeline is a bit out of whack as well. The only reason the NFL is doing anything at all about CTE and player safety is because they were backed into a corner in the courts with the CTE lawsuit (the first was filed in 2011 and settled in 2013....hardly ancient history). Maybe Gayle Benson does care about the players but if so, she is in the minority, she is one of the least "connected" owners in the NFL due to many factors but that is a whole other thread. Taking away 2 preseason games? In which starters play very limited minutes or maybe not at all? Vs a regular season game that starters will likely play the entire game? Not sure I understand that logic....
  9. I have to vehemently disagree....Tiresome? How about the insidious campaign to deny, deflect and finally forced into a corner have to admit CTE exists...The NFL and its owners are the definition of the evil empire, they care about the players only to the extent that they profit from them. Most players can't stay healthy throughout a 16 game season, adding more games (despite expanding the roster marginally) is insanity, it's greed pure and simple....
  10. I never had a single doubt that he was coming back. I feel that if he was going to retire he would have announced it sooner rather than later....
  11. Because if someone offers him crazy money (it is possible, I believe his stock shot up significantly after the playoff loss) and the Saints are not in position to match then we get a 1st round draft pick. The way the team has drafted since Ireland became involved in the personnel process means a 1st round pick is going to be a good one.... That said I hope we can retain him, but nothing is for certain....
  12. Anyone who is surprised by this is hopelessly naive....TH will be 30 soon, he needs to maximize his value asap....hopefully we can work something out, if not I will gladly take a 1st round pick....it's a win-win....
  13. Actually the game played out pretty much like I thought it would but I thought KC would be coming back from one score down in the 2nd half and pull away in the 4th quarter. 21 points in basically the last 5-6 minutes of the game is insane....Congrats to Reid, Mahomes and the Chiefs, they earned it fair and square....
  14. Respectfully disagree my friend, I squarely blame the offensive line and the offensive coaching staff. Both G's got beat repeatedly....Murray may not be Ingram in pass protection but he is decent, if he weren't teams would have exploited that during the season as well...We should have run right at their DE's playing inside, that is on Payton and perhaps Brees for checking out of runs...
  15. QFT....enjoy life every day because it is short, spend as much time with family, friends doing the things you love to do....
  16. Totally agree on Hayes, WTF were the Pels coaching staff thinking there...Actually had Ingram had his normal outing Pels would have won easily, he missed alot of shots he normally makes.... I think they are smart to limit Zion's minutes right now, I also think Zion needs to lose 20lbs or he is going to continue to have leg/foot injury issues....
  17. I meant to add....yes, I will always hate the 9ers....GO CHIEFS!!!!!!
  18. Reid is not the best on the field coach (by a long shot) but he may be the best talent evaluator in the NFL...I think the game could go either way....that said, if the 9ers get behind it will be tough for them, the Chiefs can play from behind...we will see what happens...Cheers all
  19. It's inevitable, reality....actually i'm surprised Aranda hung around as long as he did. Will be interesting to see who they get to replace them, maybe some one already on staff will step up....we will see....
  20. It was inevitable really, I hate that he went to a team in our division. But at 30, how can he not take this job....I really don't think Cincy will trade the pick but we will see....
  21. Maybe, but I'm not sure his career was long enough, we will see. I applaud Kuechly for his decision, and I hope he has a good long life after football...I always respected him as a player....
  22. Oh, I don't expect it either....I never do....but, to me, again we lost that Vikes game because of a god awful (inexplicable really) performance by the offensive line and a couple of major coaching gaffes (IMO) by Payton....main one being the Peat start (over Easton)....I think Payton will learn from this loss. And I think we will be a more run oriented team next year....I also think injuries were a real factor for us defensively, which is why the Vikes had success running the ball, I really don't think Cook goes off with Rankins and Davenport in the lineup....I think we need to bolster the depth on both lines....If we don't do this and keep reverting to a pass happy offense next year then I will start to feel the way you do.... One thing to keep in mind is we have had some good to excellent drafts over the last few years, that is cause for optimism...IMO....
  23. I respect both you guys and your takes but I believe you couldn't be more wrong on this....
  24. Agreed, well put. I think Brees signs a contract similar to the last one and plays at least 1 more year possibly 2. Health is always an issue, the 9er's dline is now intact and shocker!!!! they stopped the Vikes cold. We need to bolster both lines with quality depth, let Peat walk as he has clearly regressed, I think Easton showed he was capable of holding down that G position. For those clamoring for a 2nd WR, I understand the notion but I also think Deonte Harris and Taysom will be more heavily involved in the passing game next year (especially if Brees comes back which i believe he will)....WR is not as high on the list of needs to me....Oline and dline depth and CB/S are more pressing IMO....
  25. I'm really not the type of LSU fan (and there are too many IMO) that think LSU is way better than they actually are (if you know what I mean).... But this LSU team, the offense is an absolute scoring machine and the defense has gotten healthy and keeps improving. Clemson is a very good team, but honestly I think LSU would have to have a bad day (turnovers, missed blocking assignments) for Clemson to have a chance....
