Well, I'm officially done. Thoroughly dominated by the Panthers and Falcons. Wow.
Can't stand to see Payton on the sideline anymore. Such a repeat of the Haslett years. Not showing up to play. Bad playcalling. Bad personnel decisions. It's getting old, and I'm tired of it. I think the team has lost confidence in him, and I certainly have. Was today his worst game as coach...no, of course not. But once again, we didn't show up to play. And certainly we were out playcalled. Atlanta made it look easy.
In the mid-80s, after being a Dallas Cowboys fan my whole life, I just couldn't stand Landry and Danny White anymore. I left the Cowboys and picked the biggest underdog around, the New Orleans Saints. I have stuck with them ever since, for nearly 25 years now. I have no desire to root for another team....I will not abandon the Saints. I guess hope springs eternal next year...but realistically, without a ton of luck, we'll never go anywhere with Payton in charge.
Ditka was a joke, and we knew his firing was inevitable. Haslett kept us in mediocrity and was rewarded with contract extensions. Only after a 3-13 season could Benson finally muster up the courage to admit his mistake. And now here we go again. Another undeserved contract extension...and so much more the same. Forget about Payton's rookie year with no track record and post-Katrina emotion sweeping the team. We have a 44% winning percentage since then.
I'm just thankful that I saw Deuce score a TD on one of his few plays today...one positive memory in this 11-14 stretch over the past 2 seasons. Great catches by lowly Billy Miller while his newest toy mopes on the bench. And a TD by one of the greatest Saints ever who was disrespected by this flash in the pan coach.
I've enjoyed your guys comments and commitment to the board. Sorry, I just can't waste my Sunday afternoons and then get angry, anymore.

I am shocked we have the wins we have thus far. I see 6 & 10, possibly 5 & 11 after the performance today.
I am going nowhere, I will still be here watching our God awful team pretending to be an NFL team. What else is there to do on a Sunday, cut the grass???

I have been a big proponent of being optimistic and having faith, but no more, after playing as crappy as we have today on both sides of the ball, fark this team, fark this season, fark SP, fark Gibbs, fark it all. Maybe next season will be better... :firedevil: :bored: :wasted:

I understand your anger and frustration, but the difference between you and many of us is that you came up with another team and then SWITCHED allegiances. Many of us here are born and raised in La. and the Gulf South, and so this is the only team we have ever known. They piss me off to no end, and almost always have. Yet every year, I am watching them play week-to-week. It's a curse. We are cursed with this team and there is nothing we can do about it. There are only two ways to break the curse. Either you die or the team moves. Now excuse me while I forget yet another horrible game and take care of some diddly poo that I need to take care of. Try to hang in there. That's all we can do.

I can't and won't ever give up, it's an addiction. I'll be here through every win and loss, even after we are eliminated from contention, throughout the offseason and into next season. The Saints will always frustrate us to no end, and hope will always spring eternal upon the next season. I love the anticipation and excitement leading up to gamedays and never counting this team out, no matter what the talent of the other team may be. I'm a Saints fan for life, and I'll never give up on our boys, no matter what the record...WHO DAT!!
